We had no reason to expect what came next.

We began our marriage believing that, when the time was right, growing our family would happen naturally.

After approximately nine or ten months of trying, our son was born in October 2010. He arrived about two and a half weeks early, but everything went well. His birth gave us no reason to expect that expanding our family again would become a journey lasting many years.

We began trying again about a year after he was born. This time, pregnancy did not come easily—and when it did, it did not always continue. We eventually sought help from a fertility specialist, hoping that testing would show us what was wrong and what we could do next.

One specialist became two, and eventually three.

We went through repeated testing without receiving a clear explanation. Dee even participated in a six-month sperm-count study involving supplements and regular testing. Still, we were not finding the answers we had hoped for.

Over the years, we went through more than a dozen intrauterine insemination procedures. A small number resulted in pregnancy, but those pregnancies ended in miscarriage.

Again and again, the conversation seemed to return to the same place: there was no clear reason for our infertility, and IVF appeared to be the only remaining option.

The hardest part was not simply the treatments. It was living year after year with no answers.

It was difficult to be told that everything appeared normal while experiencing something that felt anything but normal. It was also lonely. People could love us deeply and still not fully understand what infertility and pregnancy loss were doing to us.

At times, even within our marriage, Stacie carried parts of that experience more alone than either of us realized. Infertility affected each of us differently, and learning how to support one another became part of the journey too.

A grant, a trip to Boise, and the arrival of Hope.

The financial cost of fertility treatment created another obstacle. For years, we applied for fertility grants to help make IVF possible. Eventually, we received the news that we had been awarded a $5,000 grant in Boise, Idaho.

Then our story took a remarkable turn. During that same trip, we conceived naturally. Our daughter was born in July 2019, nearly nine years after the birth of our son.

Her middle name is Hope.

Hope represented what we had carried through years of testing, disappointment, grief, and uncertainty. In time, it also came to represent what we wanted to help other families hold onto.

We began exploring what might have been overlooked.

Although our daughter had arrived, Stacie felt strongly that our family was not yet complete.

After attending a meeting at doTERRA’s headquarters where natural approaches to wellness and nutrition were discussed, Stacie felt a powerful impression that we should explore a broader, more natural path.

This did not mean abandoning conventional medicine, and it did not mean believing that one product or practice held every answer. It meant becoming curious about areas that had received less attention during the previous years: nutrition, nutrient levels, sleep, stress, hormones, environmental exposures, and everyday habits.

We began working with wellness professionals and looking more closely at extensive bloodwork. That process helped identify areas Stacie could discuss and address with appropriate professional guidance.

We began to wonder whether “unexplained” could sometimes also mean not yet fully explored.

We cannot say that one decision, supplement, product, or program produced a particular outcome. Fertility is deeply personal and far too complex for promises like that. What we can say is that our experience changed the questions we asked and the way we looked at foundational wellness.

Three pregnancies in approximately eighteen months.

The next season brought three pregnancies within approximately eighteen months. It also brought two more miscarriages.

Each loss was painful. We know that no two people experience miscarriage in exactly the same way, but we also know how deeply it can affect a woman, a couple, and an entire family.

During the third pregnancy, every medical appointment carried fear with it. Before discussing anything else, the first thing we wanted was to hear the heartbeat. We needed the reassurance that our baby was still alive.

That pregnancy continued, and our youngest child joined our family.

Reaching that moment did not erase the years that came before it. It gave those years new meaning—and strengthened our desire to support people who are still living inside the uncertainty.

Why we created Naturally Limitless.

We created Naturally Limitless because we know our experience is not unique.

Many individuals and couples feel unseen, unheard, and alone while moving through testing, appointments, pregnancy loss, financial pressure, and uncertainty. Those who have not lived through infertility may care deeply while still struggling to understand its emotional weight.

We want to offer something we needed during those years: a calm place to begin, approachable education, thoughtful questions to discuss with qualified healthcare professionals, and practical ways to explore foundational wellness.

Most importantly, we want people facing unexplained infertility to know that their experience is real, their grief matters, and they are not alone.
